I didn’t know the catholic church is the one who added the Apocrypha, I just never was interested in reading it and now I know why.

Thanks Julia. There was debate back and forth within the RCC whether the Apocrypha should be considered part of the canon until the Council of Trent officially recognized it in 1545.
I read it many years ago and you’re not missing anything. It’s very fanciful and there are no “Thus saith the Lord” claims within to being God’s Word.
