It’s Two-fer-Tuesday, my friends, which means two new sermons from the brethren down in Arkansas.
First, we have Pastor Roger Copeland of Northern Hills Baptist Church in Texarkana, preaching from Luke 7:1-10 on “The Kind of Faith That Impresses Jesus.”
Next, we have Pastor Cody Andrews of Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Star City preaching from Colossians 3:12-15 on “Good Advice.”
Both of these sermons were delivered on Sunday, March 21st.
Pastor Roger Copeland – The Kind of Faith That Impresses Jesus
Pastor Cody Williams – Good Advice
Many thanks brother Tom

Thank you, sister Crissy! I’m looking forward to listening to the new sermon from Pastor Roger tonight. I’m enjoying listening to MLJ on my own while walking the dog in the morning or while doing Spring yard clean up. “Very well then.”

Thank you, Crissy, and have a blessed evening!
And thank you for your good wishes re: work. It’s a bigger challenge than I anticipated. I’m still in training mode after three months. The role, a problem solver, would have been better-filled by someone with a long history in the warehouse dept. It’s puzzling why they hired an outsider for the role. I do the best I can and also anticipate retiring at the end of 2022, not far away.

You are so close to retirement Tom.
Will keep you and your job in my prayers.

Have some drama with ministry going on right now, hence the late reply. Is your sister older than you? Just prayed for her right now…

Thanks for your prayers! She’s 71 and lives alone. Not a good situation. I have another sister who’s only 66 and has Alzheimer’s but she is married and cared for. If I start to write incomprehensible sentences, let me know!

What an amazing faith the Centurion has! Good point about we need to recognize the authority of Christ too from the message. We in the West today don’t like “authority” but we gotta be biblical…

I’ve usually forgotten a lot the details of the sermons because I publish them two weeks after I’ve listened to them, but I do remember Pastor Roger’s remarks about Jesus marveling at the Centurion’s faith.
History nerd that I am, my ears perked up when Roger mentioned that the centurions commanded 1000 men when they actually commanded 100.
Yes, Western society distrusts all forms of authority now. That is both good and bad.
