Have a Joyous New Year!

In the last few weeks, many media journalists have taken a look back at 2020 and commented on how challenging a year it was. Between the COVID-19 pandemic, the Black Lives Matter upheaval, and the controversies surrounding the presidential election and post-election, 2020 was a unique year. In my 64 years, I’ve never experienced anything matching the turmoil, and I grew up in the tumultuous 1960s.

However, as believers, we know that we don’t find our ultimate happiness and joy in our temporal circumstances. With that in mind, I’m hoping all of my friends and readers here at the WordPress blogosphere have a joyous New Year in the Lord! May we follow the Lord more closely this year by His grace and be a blessing and encouragement to others.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”  – Lamentations 3:22-23

  1. You are right, Tom! We don’t find true and lasting happiness in this temporal life and world. Yet, may we have the peace in 2021 that only JESUS can give! Happy New Year! GOD bless you and your family!

PRAISE THE LORD, dear friend and brother!
May we stay grounded each new day in the ABSOLUTE TRUTH AND JOY of our Lord and SAVIOUR that has brought us out of the religious and worldly muck and mire ! Our Sustainer!

    1. Thank you, dear sister! Yes, may we stay grounded in the Lord’s truth. Every new day in the Lord is an indescribable gift. Every day I’m mindful of the Lord’s deliverance from pseudo-Christianity.

    1. Thank you, Mandy, and Happy New Year and love and blessings to you and Nathan!
Did you do anything special for New Year’s? Corinne wanted to go out for dinner but we opted for surf and turf at home. I subsequently woke up with agita at 2:00 a.m.

      1. I cleaned last night so that when I woke up this morning I would have a clean start to the year, month and day!

Surf and turf that sounds wonderful! Going to my dad’s later for pork and sauerkraut, I HATE THAT! I will eat broccoli with cheese and try not to glare and gag at them!

Do you guys have a New Years meal?!

      2. We usually have a big NYE meal and that’s it, but I only ate half of my steak and lobster (and Corinne followed suit, which is not like her when it comes to good food) so it’s surf and turf again tonight!
        RE: pork and sauerkraut
My mom was a proud German so I was raised on pork and sauerkraut. But it’s such a strong taste and I can understand why some would not like it. Enjoy the get-together despite the p and s!

    1. Thanks, SB, and Happy New Year to you! I’m taking a break from rebutting Catholic apologists, but I’m open to another series down the road if the Lord leads.
