Truth from Arkansas! Sunday sermon series, #54

It’s Two-fer-Tuesday, my friends, which means two new sermons from the brethren down in Arkansas.

First, we have Pastor Roger Copeland of Northern Hills Baptist Church in Texarkana, preaching from Genesis 39:1-5 on “Coping with Change.”

Next, we have Pastor Cody Andrews of Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Star City preaching from 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 on “The Four Promises of Jesus.”

Both of these sermons were delivered on Sunday, October 4th.

Pastor Roger Copeland – Coping with Change

Pastor Cody Andrews – The Four Promises of Jesus

Hi there! Hope your day’s going well. Rainy again here in ROC. Went to flooring store today to pick out replacement for linoleum kitchen floor that we bought only three years ago but is yellowing badly. Is under warranty, but the pressure is to upgrade although finances are very tight.

      1. Thanks so much for the kind offer, brother! We’re actually in “decent shape” financially. The recent meetings with the financial planner I mentioned to you were very positive. Unemployment benefit is keeping us afloat for now. We’re trying to hold off filing for Social Security as long as possible because the later you file, the more you collect monthly. We’re living frugally and still have a nest egg, but can always dip into our 401K if we ever need additional funds. Plus, we could file for SS tomorrow if we had to. Don’t mean to sound presumptuous. As I write this, I’m very conscious that our tomorrow is all in the Lord’s hands.

  1. Answering your comment on my post: Brother I think NY and New England have so much history including religious ones too. No pressure with the suggestions by the way but if you do it, that would be so neat and delight for me personally lol

    1. It’s a good suggestion, brother, and I already have some knowledge of the “Burned Over District,” that being Western and Central NY after the Second Great Awakening and the cults that it spawned. I’m going to mark it down on my “future posts” list!

      1. Thanks! Lord bless your preaching and I hope you’re blessed by one of the sermons. I’m still waiting for Wally to upload this past Sunday’s sermon from Pastor Cody. I imagine he has his hands full with school and work and his brain is spinning. I went back to college at age 40 which was tough, but it’s even tougher for Wally who’s 58.

      2. Yeah, I couldn’t imagine doing that work-night school-homework grind in my late 50s. Well, then again, writing a daily post for a blog is pretty tough, too! 😊

      1. Thanks! Hard to believe it’s been 54 weeks already of filling in for Wally. When you hear somebody “Amening” Cody during a sermon, that’s Wally.

Ah! Thanks for remembering my garden Tom 😃. The plants are beginning to grow from the seeds I planted . So exciting ! I am thinking of doing a post soon on my gardening experience 😂
