It’s Two-fer-Tuesday, my friends, which means two new sermons from the brethren down in Arkansas.
First, we have Pastor Roger Copeland of Northern Hills Baptist Church in Texarkana, preaching from 1 Samuel 16:1-13 on “God’s Choice of the Unlikely.”
Next, Pastor Cody Andrews at Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Star City preaches from 2 Corinthians 2:5-11 on “The Devices of Satan.”
Both of these sermons were delivered on Sunday, August 9th.
Pastor Roger Copeland – “God’s Choice of the Unlikely”
Pastor Cody Andrews – “The Devices of Satan”
Nice blog:))

Hi my friend! How’s your day going? The dog was freaking out last night because of a thunder and lightning storm so I was up at 3 a.m. Running on fumes.

RE: tired
I only got 5 hours sleep but it occurs to me that’s “sleeping in” for you. The storm lasted until about 5 a.m. then it turned sunny with a high of 80F today. They delivered and installed our new fridge today, such an improvement over our old clunker that was probably around 30 years and couldn’t keep food cold. Ice cream was always very soft, especially on a hot day.

Thanks! Last night I stayed up really late making sense of the shooting at Kenosa, WI. What a mess our country is in

This is the latest decision from the Court with Supreme Court; it has been a while since I study church and state in my political science major but boy I am really interested with how the lawyers argued with the County on behalf of J Mac (though I have concerns like you do from our previous discussions): https://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2020/08/25/grace-church-john-macarthur-la-county-covid-sun-valley/

Thanks for the article! I’ve been “semi” keeping an eye on this ping pong match.

Same here; on the one hand I am afraid of the implication of MacArthur losing for the sake of religious liberities, on the other hand our church apart from the government decision is going slow about opening; there is a church who rent from us and they had 8 people get sick. For a small congregation that’s a big percentage and we believe they got it from their church (outside of our building). So the virus is very real in our area.

Yeah ,I think the decision to pack an auditorium with 3500 people and discourage any health safety protocols in light of the last five months is very imprudent.
