Thirteen-long-months after being outed on “60 Minutes” as a serial enabler of abusive priests by his whistle-blowing, former-secretary, Richard Malone (photo above) FINALLY resigned as Catholic bishop of the diocese of nearby Buffalo, New York. Pope Francis claims “no tolerance” for abuse or cover-up, but this inexcusably long delay showed it’s still business as usual. Many Buffalonian Catholics were outraged over this Malone fiasco to the point of questioning their membership in the Roman church. I pray the Lord uses this ongoing scandal tsunami in the RCC to cause MANY to question their allegiance to their church and its false gospel of salvation by sacramental grace and merit and to lead them to the Good News! of salvation by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone.
With its rule of mandatory clerical celibacy, the RCC both attracted and fostered deviancy, and pedophilia became institutionalized. After centuries of secrecy, cover-up, and disavowal, the chickens have now come home to roost. But keep in mind the millions of children who were abused along the way.
Catholic media pioneer, archbishop Fulton J. Sheen (d. 1979), is scheduled to be “beatified” two weeks from today. In Catholicism, beatification is the step in the canonization process just prior to sainthood. But just as I surmised last Saturday, Rochester Catholic bishop, Salvatore Matano, attempted to delay the beatification because there are reports that Sheen may have (i.e. probably) covered-up for abusive priests during his tenure as bishop of Rochester from 1966 to 1969, behavior hardly becoming of a “saint.” This could get ugly for the RCC. Keep digging, investigative reporters!
This purported shard of Jesus’ manger is as bogus as a three dollar bill. Catholics cling to the physical – alleged relics and other amulets – and ignore the spiritual truths of the Gospel.
Pragmatic pope Francis made a “deal with the devil” by cooperating with the Chinese communist government and recognizing the bishops of the state-sanctioned Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association, which existed in schism with Rome until the conclusion of the controversial Vatican-China agreement struck last year. This situation in China is one of several reasons why conservative Catholics consider pope Francis dangerous and even heretical.
Last week, a conservative Catholic priest refused to give communion to a female judge involved in a same-sex marriage, energizing both sides in the ongoing debate over LGBTers and the church. Progressive Jesuit, James Martin, continues his church-wide crusade for full acceptance of practicing LGBTers, with the sanction of pope Francis.
This article reports that, “just 8% of U.S. Catholics say they are ‘very close’ with the clergy of their church.” Who can blame Catholics for wanting to keep their distance from their celibate priests given the headlines over the last twenty years?
Nancy Pelosi, like all Roman Catholics, is in denial about her depraved sinful state. I was a Catholic for 27 years and I hated a lot of people. As a student and altar boy at Catholic grammar school and then as a student at Catholic high school, I also witnessed a lot of hatred from the nuns, priests, brothers, and from my classmates as well. It’s all a sham.
Leave it to the Babylon Bee to tell it like it is.
Always a great read. Thanks for making it happen. What has gone on in the RCC is appalling. Thanks for speaking the truth about Jesus.

Thanks, Michael! I appreciate the encouragement to speak the truth about Jesus and about Roman Catholic error.

“Jesus manger relic…” really “gets my goat”!
I read about this somewhere else… 💔
Thanks for another great Roundup! I’m sharing the relic one in hopes that any one that believes this hoopla feels God’s Holy Spirit conviction come on their religious hearts 🙏🏻❤️

3 dollar bill 😂 that was funny brother! These round-ups must be very difficult for you to write about, and even more heartbreaking for you to research. Thank you for doing that, and for bringing us these truths. I continue in daily prayer for you, my friend, and for your family. May the Lord bless your weekend.

Thank you for the encouragement, sister! These news stories are definitely a “downer,” but it’s valuable to observe the various “trends” developing within the RCC. Your kind comments just brought to mind the Lord’s ongoing protection as I regularly swim these polluted waters. It’s something I should never take for granted and your words blessed me to go to the Lord in praise and gratefulness for His protection!
Thank you so much for your prayers, my friend! I pray each day for you and yours as well. I am blessed by your love and enthusiasm for the Lord and for your strong stand on God’s Word and your desire to follow Him more closely. I’m really enjoying how your ministry is growing. You and Becca are giving excellent counsel via the podcasts (with some lightheartedness mixed in – excellent approach). As I mentioned before, I realize you’re aiming your messages mostly to women (much needed with women gravitating to Joyce Meyer, Beth Moore, Pricilla Shirer, Christine Caine, etc.), but I still enjoy it all and am blessed by your dedication and growth in Biblical knowledge. Thank you and you have a blessed rest of your weekend as well!

1.) “Pope Francis claims “no tolerance” for abuse or cover-up, but this inexcusably long delay showed it’s still business as usual”
This pope is all show and nothing else.
2.) “I pray the Lord uses this ongoing scandal tsunami in the RCC to cause MANY to question their allegiance to their church and its false gospel of salvation by sacramental grace and merit and to lead them to the Good News! ”
A good prayer
3.) “New wave of sexual-abuse lawsuits could cost Catholic Church more than $4 billion”
Hitting where it hurts for the clergy: Their money.
4.) “Sheen may have (i.e. probably) covered-up for abusive priests during his tenure as bishop of Rochester from 1966 to 1969, behavior hardly becoming of a “saint.”
Its crazy the abuses were going on even back in the 60s
5.) “This situation in China is one of several reasons why conservative Catholics consider pope Francis dangerous and even heretical.”
This Pope compromises even by Catholic standards…and yet doesn’t come to biblical truth but bends to leftist liberals.

Thanks for the comments!
RE: This pope is all show and nothing else.
Yeah, and he was in the middle of the cover-up when he was a cardinal down in Argentina.

That pope needs to be held responsible

Liberal Catholics love him for showing the doctrinalists to the door. The book I’m reading that defends Francis against his conservative critics puts him on a pedestal higher than Jesus!

Yes, the financial fallout is going to be huge.
RE: Its crazy the abuses were going on even back in the 60s.
It would be sadly interesting to find out when this predatory abuse was at its peak. Most of the victims now coming forward are older. The number of priests in the U.S. peaked in 1970 with 59K. The number is now down to 37K and a great number of them are elderly.
RE: Francis and China
Most Catholics aren’t even aware of the dirty deal Francis did with the communists.

It makes me wonder if there will be another schism eventually…
7.) “Who can blame Catholics for wanting to keep their distance from their celibate priests given the headlines over the last twenty years?”
I will be honest when I see a Catholic priest, I get a little cautious especially with my kids

RE: Schism
It’s a real possibility. From what I read, it seems like most of the young guys who are enthusiastic enough to join the priesthood these days lean towards conservative/militant Catholicism and Francis’ progressivism just doesn’t fly with them.
RE: keeping distance from priests
I’ve related a few times in my posts that I was an altar boy for four years and I worked closely with those guys and they were some creepy dudes.

Thank you, Crissy! Rarely do I struggle for weekend stories with all of the shenanigans going on at the Vatican. Sadly, one-billion souls are trusting in the lie.
p.s. amazing how a good haircut helps you feel better. my barber should only charge me 1/2 price with the small amount of hair I have left. 👴🏻

RE: job hunt
Thanks, Crissy. I keep applying to jobs every day, but no interviews yet. My severance pay runs out at the end of this month and then I can collect unemployment for 26 weeks. I’ll just keep applying every day.
