I was skimming through today’s newspaper and came across this full page ad from the Green family and Hobby Lobby.
That’s what I’m talking about!
We are all guilty sinners and deserve God’s eternal judgement but He loves us so much He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross at Calvary. Jesus rose from the grave, conquering sin and death, and offers eternal life and fellowship with God to all those who accept Him as their Savior through faith alone.
Church membership won’t save you. Trying to obey the Ten Commandments won’t save you. Trying to be an all-around good person won’t save you. Christ is reaching out to you. Accept Him as your Savior today.
“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.” – John 1:12-13

Yes, I did check out your post. I shared your viewpoint regarding Christmas and Easter many years ago when I first accepted the Lord. I’m now at the place where I don’t go out of my way to “celebrate” these syncretic “holidays” but I don’t make a huge fuss about them either. We can definitely use them as opportunities for evangelism like this advertisement has done. These pagan-rooted things are intermixed throughout our culture; the days of the week and months of the year named after pagan gods, wedding rings and rites, funerary rites and practices (embalming, etc.), birthdays, etc. How far do we go with this? We can take a circle-the-wagons, bunker mentality approach or use every occasion to witness for the Lord. Every Christian must follow their own conscience regarding these “holiday” issues but we should not condemn our brothers and sisters who don’t agree exactly with our viewpoint.
