Millions of Americans are queuing up for their Powerball lottery tickets in anticipation ofPB tomorrow’s drawing. The pre-tax jackpot for the winning numbers is currently quoted at 1.5 billion dollars. It’s not pleasant to admit but greed fuels the Powerball feeding frenzy. The lottery executives are banking on our greed and they won’t be disappointed.

But the people who analyze these things report winning the lottery is often more of a curse than a blessing. 70% of the winners of large lotteries end up declaring bankruptcy within seven years not to mention the other pressures and problems that inevitably come with a sudden windfall.

People are tripping over each other to buy a ticket to have a chance to win Powerball but is anyone interested in the GIFT of ETERNAL life and fellowship with God through Jesus Christ? He offers ETERNAL life to EVERYONE who accepts Him, not just to a “lucky,” microscopic few.

Accept Jesus Christ as your Savior. Nothing, nothing, nothing could compare to fellowship with God and ETERNAL life in Christ. Not 1.5 billion dollars. Not a trillion dollars.

“For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?” – Mark 8:36

Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” – Luke 12:15

“But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.” – 1 Timothy 6:9-10
